Colorado IPMA-HR

Your Colorado chapter is dedicated to providing information, networking opportunities and informational sharing to Public Sector HR professionals.  IPMA-HR CO recognizes that together we form a diverse group of professionals with a broad base of talent, knowledge and interests.  The Colorado chapter tries to draw upon the talent and knowledge that is within the ranks of our membership AND to bring new speakers, information and learning experiences to our community.

We are proud to be the preferred organizatino of public sector HR professionals in the Denver metropolitan region.  Together we will learn and prosper together.

The International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) was established in 1973, through the consolidation of the Public Personnel Association, founded in Chicago in 1906, and the society for Personnel Administration, founded in Washington, DC in 1937. IPMA is a non-profit membership organization for agencies and individuals in the public sector human resources field, and others interested in the Association's objectives. Over 5,500 members are located in federal, state and local governments throughout the United States and overseas.

The Colorado Chapter has been established for many years and furthers the mission of IPMA-HR National on a more local level. The objectives of the Colorado Chapter are:

  1. to provide a forum for persons engaged in human resources administration to discuss current issues and to provide a medium for skill development and education;
  2. to implement the objectives and program of the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) within the chapter area;
  3. to communicate and share new ideas and methods in human resources administration;
  4. and to encourage and facilitate a cooperative relationship between public jurisdictions and private employers within the chapter area on human resources issues.
